Just copy

ConfigurationSectionProject.zip from "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 9.0\Common7\IDE\ProjectTemplates\CSharp\1033\" to "<My Documents>\Visual Studio 2008\Templates\ProjectTemplates\Visual C#\"
ConfigurationSectionDesigner.zip from "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 9.0\Common7\IDE\ItemTemplates\CSharp\1033" to "<My Documents>\Visual Studio 2008\Templates\ItemTemplate\Visual C#\"

Dear Developers.

I was unable to install the designer on Visual Studio 2010 beta 2. I copied .cs files to project and it works... But it is impossible to develop sections. Is there any plans to move instalation of the designer for VS 2010?

Is it possible to set maually?

I am programatically creating instances of my class objects generated via the CSD tool and I wish to save them to an XML configuration file in some instances. Not sure what the suggested approach for doing such would be but any feedback would be appreciated.

I have successfully installed CSD and I am able to see and create new ConfigurationSectionDesigner project and add new Configuration Section Designer item in the existing project.
But when I open the .csd file there is no component in the toolbox.
Please help me out.

Forgive me if this is already possible, but I don't see a way to create a Configuration Element from an already existing type (like System.Configuration.NameValueConfigurationCollection). Am I missing something?

It looks like this was an issue with source control and something not being checked out appropriately. Recreated from scratch with no problem. May have potentially been caused by missing namespaces on Configuration objects.

It's possible, you can define a custom enum type in the Configuration Section Explorer tool window (see "Defining Types" on the homepage).

Section protection support would be usefull.
Other great feature is visual editing of new *.config file. It's look similar to http://www.codeplex.com/CoMan :)

Although I was not able to SOLVE the problem, I think I came up with a "good enough" workaround.

I've added a port shato to represent ElementProperty class and removed the custom parent of the ElementHasTypeConnector.

True, it's not pretty, but at least it does not have that very annoying behavior.

This is a known issue (to me anyway), but unfortunately I also haven't found the cause of this strange rendering yet. It's on my list of things to look at but since it's really just a rendering issue (albeit a rather irritating one) I didn't put too much effort into it yet. But some day, I will :-) If you would happen to find it before that, please let me know :-)

Hi, guys.

First of all, thanks for the nice tool.

But I've come across a strange "bug" I think.

For instance: you have two ConfigurationElements (A and B). Then you add a property to the element A, say Prop1 and set its type to B, and a connection is created between them to making clear their relationship.

So far, so good.

The problem is that when you drag any of the element the shape for the element A will streach if the element B is at the right of the element A, and the property NameDecorator will be shown under the element A, if the element B is at the left of element A.

This behavior occurs either with the binary bit, as well as with the source code.

I've gone through the source code, but found nothing that would generate such behavior.
